How do these turtle races work, you ask?  Scroll down and follow along...........

First, you provide a turtle caught from Runyan Lake.  Only Runyan Lake turtles are allowed.

Next, you enter your turtles in the races by registering.  Turtles will be assigned races, or heats, The goal is to make it to the finals.  The heat results look like this.

During each race, the turtles are placed in a square open box in the center of the racing circle.

To start the race, the box is lifted, and now it is up to the turtles!

The first turtle to completely exit the circle is the heat winner!

The goal of this fun time?  To have your family name permanently added to the trophy!

Food Options During the Turtle Race

Grab a brat, burger, hot dog, or something to drink.

Admire the cakes from the cake contest, then try one out.

Enjoy a frozen yogurt from Yofresh.

Get your picture taken.  There are also balloons for the kids, and a face painting booth.

Take the kids on a train ride.  Adults can ride along too!
