(RLPPOA) is a private community located off of Carmer Road via the private road Runyan Lake Point, which is owned and maintained by the RLPPOA. Runyan Lake Point provides access to Spring Street, which is also owned and maintained by the RLPPOA. RLPPOA is a Summer Resort Corporation and is authorized and empowered by Michigan Public Act 137 of 1929, and Michigan Public Act 44 of 2006. RLPPOA operates as a neighborhood association. More information can be found in the RLPPOA Bylaws. All members of RLPPOA are also members of Runyan Lake Inc. (RLI). The Runyan Lake Point community has existed since 1932, and has an annual fall tradition of hosting the Turtle Race. Dues are established by vote of the Membership during the Fall Annual Membership Meeting, and invoiced in April of each year to each property within the RLPPOA territory having a unique property tax id. Unpaid dues will result in a lien being placed on the property. Dues are utilized for road maintenance and repair, and to maintain the community park areas. The corporation's fiscal year is January 1 - December 31.
* 2014 and later dues include a special assessment for waste services (garbage, recycle, and yard waste) provided by the association for all Members. Seasonal properties pay the lower rate shown. See the Refuse/Waste page for additional information. ** 2016 dues include a one time $50 special assessment for road improvements in addition to the waste services special assessment described above. *** 2020 and later dues include a $100 annual increase as voted by the Members during the 2019 Fall General Meeting. These additional funds will be used primarily for road maintenance. The special assessment for waste services is also included. **** 2023 and 2024 dues include a $600 road maintance special assessment. Runyan Lake Inc. (RLI) has jurisdiction over the lands abutting Runyan Lake, and also other properties around Runyan Lake by virtue of being a Summer Resort Corporation. RLI was issued a corporation charter by the state of Michigan on November 10, 1950, and is authorized and empowered by Michigan Public Act 137 of 1929, and Michigan Public Act 44 of 2006.
